Dr. Elizabeth Miller, Assistant Professor of Sociology, will be leading a presentation and discussion for students about for-profit colleges, what they are, and why students should be aware of them when choosing a transfer school.

The program will include a 20-minute excerpt from Frontline’s College Inc. documentary, which explores for-profit colleges’ predatory, and often fraudulent, practices and tendency to recruit first-generation college students.

The discussion following the screening will focus on the challenges that for-profit college degree-seekers and graduates face, including finding employment in their field of study, substantial borrowing, and defaulting on student loans.

The same program will take place on two times to choose from in Cla 100
